⚠️ RECITAL PARTICIPATION NOTICE

This class is specifically for dancers participating in the Spring 2026 recital. This is not a regular drop-in dance class. Enrollment confirms commitment to the listed rehearsals and performance.

This year’s recital will open with a high-class, jazz-inspired opening number set to “Dernière Danse” by Indila. Elegant, dramatic, and unapologetically powerful, this piece sets the tone for the entire show from the very first moment.

The choreography draws heavily from classic jazz stylization—clean lines, grounded strength, musical precision—with select contemporary-inspired sections woven in to add emotional depth and texture. Think sophistication, intention, and presence.

Visually, the number leans into a timeless, classy aesthetic: black leotards, strong silhouettes, and subtle prop work (canes) to elevate the performance and create a striking, theatrical
